Convert a dilapidated club venue into an atmospheric leisure space, quickly and inexpensively.
Photos tell only part of the story of this project which is mostly hidden behind the four walls and ceiling of the main venue. There is a complex of store rooms, staff areas and support spaces for what is essentially a large single volume of approximately 300 sqm. The project had to be completed quickly and inexpensively and this was achieved.
The space is very simple and deliberately chthonic and atmospheric in its scheme and palette of midnight blue, dark grey and coral with a black rubber floor. The bar emerges from the ground as a single cast concrete element topped with a black terrazzo counter. The ceiling is well organised and disappears behind twinkling spotlights and suspended other-worldly lipstick red canopies.
