  • The practice completes its first private house in the Seychelles.

A long time in the making, this subtle, unique and intimate family home in the Seychelles is as calm and tranquil as it is breathtaking.

    • Commissioned by a friend and client the starting point was a site visit to what was then a steep red earth slope overgrown with cinnamon trees – but even then it was clear that the focus should be framing a single view as you enter the house which then opens as you descend and the practice has never wavered from this vision.
      • The build was difficult with a challenging terrain, limited staging points for construction and extensive earthworks. After almost a year on site the foundations eventually emerged and it would take another year or more to fully realise the structure above ground and finish but the clients are extremely pleased with their new home.
        • This was the first house the studio built in the Seychelles and will be soon followed by another.
