  • What we're doing.

    Studio Ageli is excited to be able to share what we’ve been up to with you. The practice has been working remotely due to the current situation with Covid-19 and adapting accordingly following Government guidance. We extend our well wishes to everyone during this time.

    • Now: The practice has just won the Build Architecture Awards for ‘Best Public & Leisure Architecture Practice in London’ and ‘Best Completed Entertainment & Hospitality Venue in London for Goods Way’.
      • Ongoing: The studio currently has two residential projects on site (due to complete in July 2020) and another larger residential projects set to commence on site in July 2020.
        • March – May 2020: Full planning permission received for the next stage of Camphill Community’s development in Milton Keynes. The scheme is set over two sites and will enable the charity to continue to provide a high level of care to those with learning difficulties. Detail design for phase 1 is set to commence in July – the overall project encompasses: a new workshop building; a respite care facility with a new organic and home grown shop below; refurbishment of the theatre to make more accessible changing rooms and better positioned entrance/ events space; 5 new residential buildings offering 80 new beds; a community hub; and a comprehensive and large scale landscaping scheme and improved site planning.
          • March 2020: Goods Way opens its doors! This exciting and unique leisure/ entertainment project in Kings Cross, London has been 2 years in the making and includes Lafayette, a 600 cap music venue; Sweet Water, a speak-easy style drinking hole; Nola’s private lounge; and the New Orleans inspired Courtyard.             • February – March 2020: The studio has completed concept design for two new house projects in the Seychelles – one a new-build and another an extensive refurbishment of a large period house, with planning to be submitted imminently.
              • October – December 2019: Studio Ageli visits the Seychelles and is appointed to design 2 new houses on the island of Mahe.
                The practice is invited to bid for a large scale country estate hotel masterplan, refurbishment and development project in the South West of England.

                • June 2019-present: Intense period of detail design, coordination and construction for London Music venue project due to open in February 2020.
                  • April-May 2019: Commemorative 3D printed models and postcards celebrating 5 successful years of delivering projects in the Seychelles (see stories: ‘Postcards’ and ‘Models’).
                    • March 2019: A second luxury home in Seychelles is completed (see projects: ‘Private luxury home, Sans Soucis, Seychelles’). Concept design guidelines for a retail franchise in the Middle-East are completed.
                      • February 2019: A 500 sqm warehouse in Seychelles is completed after starting on site in late Autumn 2018 (see projects: ‘SACOS warehouse, Seychelles’).
                        • December 2018: Michael Adams A Monograph is published on the work of the foremost and preeminent Seychelles artist – this sees Studio Ageli’s principal architect Mohammed Ageli return to the role of director of publications to produce this book (see projects: ‘Conversations in Colour’).
                          • November 2018: The practice completed its first private house in the Seychelles (see projects: ‘Private luxury home, La Misere, Seychelles’).
                            • In Other news, our sister practice Studio Ageli Surveying launched its website in 2018 and will be updating it regularly with completed work, www.studioagelisurveying.co.uk.
