Matching the ambitions of this brief, Studio Ageli formed a consultant team in Dubai and London at the outset of the project — engineers, project managers and consultants in hospitality, branding, interior design and lighting.
Studio Ageli conducted an exercise with the client to shape the brief and explain constraints, options, programme, resourcing and costs. Alongside research into precedents and context, we presented and evaluated five possible types of massing — cluster, courtyard, monolithic, strip and twin.
Over several meetings with local authorities, the client team, consultants and investors, we realised a budget and focused the study.
